Entertainment
Sheffield has an exciting entertainment and festivals programme. You can see big names perform at the Hallam FM Arena or Don Valley Stadium. There is also the famous Crucible Theatre and beautifully restored Lyceum Theatre and City Hall.
Shopping
If you enjoy shopping, you'll enjoy Meadow hall shopping centre with over 270 shops. In the city centre Orchard Square has a charming courtyard and the pedestrianised shopping areas offer all the high street names. Nearby the Devonshire Quarter offers vibrant boutique shopping.
City of Sport
The city boasts excellent facilities including Ponds Forge International Sports Centre (swimming and diving), Ice Sheffield (world-class ice skating arena) and Sheffield Ski Village (Europe's largest artificial ski resort). There's also the prestigious English Institute of Sport.
Sheffield is England's greenest city, surrounded by beautiful woodland with over 50 parks. Over a third of its area lies within the beautiful scenery of the Peak District National Park, making it an ideal base for outdoor pursuits, as well as for exploring stately homes and historic houses like Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.
